In the 5th minute, Cristóvão Linares made a precise shot to the right of Benedito Vale. Curiphila Eagles's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. With a little luck, Curiphila Eagles's Benedito Vale got control of the ball when Cristóvão Linares tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Luiz Fábio Hermes took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Benedito Vale to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Imbituba - FSCMZ booed when Curiphila Eagles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adhemar de Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the last second Benedito Vale throw himself and got hold of the ball when Aloísio Catarinense in the 19thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. 3-0 became the score in the 24th minute when Cristóvão Linares elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 38 minutes into the match, Aloísio Catarinense notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Curiphila Eagles's Benedito Vale. Benedito Vale was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 41 minutes into the match, Imbituba - FSCMZ's Olívio Castro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benedito Vale narrowly saved just below the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. José Pedro Seco was the one to do the kick off. José Pedro Seco in the 53rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rodriguinho de Queirós, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 55th match minute, Curiphila Eagles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evandro Quirino to maneuver through the defense. Aloísio Catarinense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Benedito Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66thth minute of the game Cristóvão Linares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Curiphila Eagles's Benedito Vale was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 69 minutes into the match, Curiphila Eagles's goal looked a bit too open when Cristóvão Linares came free, but Benedito Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luiz Fábio Hermes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benedito Vale read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aloísio Catarinense in the 79th minute of play forced Curiphila Eagles's goalkeeper Benedito Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 83 minutes, the score became 6-0 when Cristóvão Linares sped through Curiphila Eagles's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Benedito Vale. Benedito Vale didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Imbituba - FSCMZ. Benedito Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aloísio Catarinense, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Imbituba - FSCMZ fully deserved thier win.
