The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Villaverde Celeste Clube's Mané Garrincha got a free kick in the 6th minute. Oscar Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Botelho in the 14th minute of the match. Oscar Azevedo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Isaltino Arce in the 15th minute. Alfredo Linares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thiago Furtado, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Botelho in the 28th minute of play forced UPTEXTIL.COM's goalkeeper Oscar Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alfredo Linares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thiago Furtado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute, Jardel Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. UPTEXTIL.COM's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Miguel Botelho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Isaltino Arce's late challenge caught a UPTEXTIL.COM's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isaltino Arce helped the player get up and apologised. In the 61st match minute, Villaverde Celeste Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isaltino Arce to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Villaverde Celeste Clube getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Isaltino Arce hit a great ball. Oscar Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Botelho in the 66th minute of the match. Jeremias Pinheiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Villaverde Celeste Clube made a substitution. Robinho Dias replaced Mané Garrincha. Alfredo Linares came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by UPTEXTIL.COM's Thiago Furtado. But to his dismay, Thiago Furtado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Miguel Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Villaverde Celeste Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Miguel Botelho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oscar Azevedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cesinha Dias during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of UPTEXTIL.COM booed when Villaverde Celeste Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesinha Dias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diguinho Lucas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Linares having to interfere. In the 95th minute of the match Edson-Arantes Pelé shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Oscar Azevedo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Villaverde Celeste Clube's Waldemar Lucas got a free kick in the 97th minute. After 98 minutes, Dorival Melo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the UPTEXTIL.COM and the Villaverde Celeste Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dorival Melo hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. Despite being the better team, UPTEXTIL.COM failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
