Jorginho Félix didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Edson-Arantes Pelé kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Wiliam Favoretto. That made the score 1-0 in the 11 minute of play. Giuliano David blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wiliam Favoretto having to make a save. In the 16th minute Váldson Mazza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Augusto Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 17 played minutes Villaverde Celeste Clube got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Netto. Denílson de Souza charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Denílson de Souza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Classe A Futebol Clube's Jorginho Félix got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Robinho Dias got free with Wiliam Favoretto in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 28 minutes into the game, Ramiro Fonseca was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Classe A Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Villaverde Celeste Clube the free kick. Villaverde Celeste Clube's Edson-Arantes Pelé couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 29th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Classe A Futebol Clube. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Belmiro Meira in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Augusto Fernandez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ramiro Fonseca was shown his second yellow card after 43 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Ramiro Fonseca hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Giuliano David could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Wiliam Favoretto made a huge save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kléber Pernambucano to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Váldson Mazza got free with Augusto Fernandez in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 64 minutes into the game, Edson-Arantes Pelé cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Wiliam Favoretto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luiz Netto kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Classe A Futebol Clube's Wiliam Favoretto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edson-Arantes Pelé in the 69th minute of play. Villaverde Celeste Clube's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
