Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Agnaldo Vargas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 11th match minute, Nova Iguaçu MZFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Deivid Queirós to maneuver through the defense. Paulo de Mendonça stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Agnaldo Vargas's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. 21 minutes into the match, Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Renato Souza came free, but Paulo de Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulo de Mendonça came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Agnaldo Vargas. But to his dismay, Agnaldo Vargas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. When Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Agnaldo Vargas in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's goalie prevented a goal. Paulo de Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Cerezo in the 31st minute of the match. Paulo de Mendonça stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Agnaldo Vargas's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. In the 37th minute Diego Cerezo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo de Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo de Mendonça didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agnaldo Vargas went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zac Ba Loua to make the kick off. Paulo de Mendonça took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agnaldo Vargas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Agnaldo Vargas's late challenge caught a Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Agnaldo Vargas helped the player get up and apologised. Agnaldo Vargas hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Anselmo Batista was substituted for Paulo Renato Souza. After 61 played minutes Diego Cerezo rounded Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-4. Oséias Massa hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. In the 69th minute of the match, Agnaldo Vargas got a very nice opportunity to score, but Paulo de Mendonça was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's defense didn't have a chance, in the 74th minute, when Agnaldo Vargas scored to the left of an out of position Paulo de Mendonça, making the score, 0-5. 85 minutes into the match, Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Cerezo came free, but Paulo de Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agnaldo Vargas in the 87th minute of play forced Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's goalkeeper Paulo de Mendonça to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 89 minutes into the match, Agnaldo Vargas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulo de Mendonça. Paulo de Mendonça made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Anselmo Batista sent off a good shot on target. Nova Iguaçu MZFC played a much better game than Rio Verde F.C CIMZ and deserved their victory. The Rio Verde F.C CIMZ players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
