Clube do Remo MZ's Frederico Smith proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Clube do Remo MZ from getting a goal against them. 14 minutes into the game, Elói Souza was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Capivariano F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clube do Remo MZ the free kick. In the 44th minute of the match Clube do Remo MZ got a corner. Capivariano F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cauã Rocha ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Clube do Remo MZ's Cauã Rocha to fire away a dangerous shot which Tales Rezende despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Arnaldo Moreno made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arnaldo Moreno in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Frederico Smith saved Clube do Remo MZ from getting behind. Cauã Rocha struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Tales Rezende didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Clube do Remo MZ. If Oswaldo Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute, Elói Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cauã Rocha, 84 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Capivariano F.C.'s Arnaldo Moreno got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
