The supporters of JFSP booed when A.A. Francana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Orlando didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in A.A. Francana's zone, Flaco López stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilson Cassia came out of the goal and Flaco López tried to chip the ball over his head. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luizão Bocanegra to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Flaco López got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A.A. Francana's Wilson Cassia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flaco López in the 56th minute of play. Võ Gozali showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luizão Bocanegra in the 62nd minute of the match. In the 64th minute JFSP were awarded a corner. Luiz Eduardo Montenegro went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to JFSP's Perivaldo Tinoco getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Pietro Sales could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Wilson Cassia made a huge save. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind A.A. Francana's goalkeeper Wilson Cassia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 70 minutes had been played when some careless play by A.A. Francana's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luiz Eduardo Montenegro was slow to take the kick. During this time JFSP's players had a chance to rest. Francana's Wilson Cassia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save A.A. Francana from getting a goal against them. Wilson Cassia made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Pietro Sales sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to JFSP getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Maurício Pires hit a great ball. JFSP made a substitution. Denílson Massa replaced Flaco López. After a rather tough play, JFSP's Maurício Pires got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 90th minute, Pietro Sales hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 95 minutes, Denílson Massa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. JFSP's supporters crossed their fingers, but Denílson Massa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
