Ogro F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 9th minute, when Sílvio Queirós scored to the left of an out of position Chiquinho Borges, making the score, 1-0. 13 minutes into the match, Vila Zumbi's goal looked a bit too open when João Francisco Alagoano came free, but Abelardo Barreto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raí Branco in the 18th minute of play forced Ogro F.C.'s goalkeeper Chiquinho Borges to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Egídio Mineiro fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ogro F.C.'s protests and gave Egídio Mineiro a yellow card for diving instead. Egídio Mineiro hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. The tension between the Vila Zumbi and the Ogro F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Vila Zumbi's Enéas Falcão got a free kick in the 85th minute. Luiz Paulo Cosme hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Vila Zumbi's Abelardo Barreto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Vila Zumbi from getting a goal against them. 97 minutes into the match, Sandro Domingues had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Abelardo Barreto. Vila Zumbi's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sandro Domingues was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. The Ogro F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ogro F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
