Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Raphael de Medeiros started the match with the kick off. After 10 played minutes Vasco FC got a freekick which was hit by Diego Teixeira. With his leg Wellington Barbosa managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when Vila Zumbi's Fernandão Peixoto fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Vila Zumbi's Alexandre Mendes got a free kick in the 16th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marquinhos Schmidt in the 19th minute of play forced Vila Zumbi's goalkeeper Geovanildo Mendi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute Vila Zumbi were awarded a corner. Geovanildo Cannavaro went to the cornerflag to take it. The crowd rose to their feet as Vila Zumbi's Fernandão Peixoto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Wellington Barbosa. That made the score 1-0 after 27 minutes of play. In the 33rdth minute of the game Fernandão Peixoto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vasco FC's Wellington Barbosa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Vasco FC's zone, Zé Pedro Ortiz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wellington Barbosa came out of the goal and Zé Pedro Ortiz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fernandão Peixoto took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wellington Barbosa. Wellington Barbosa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Vasco FC's Wellington Barbosa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Vasco FC from getting a goal against them. When the match clock showed 45 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Fernandão Peixoto sped through Vasco FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Wellington Barbosa. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fernandão Peixoto was the one to do the kick off. Raphael de Medeiros kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. Agnaldo Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Vila Zumbi fans' excitement grew in the 55th match minute when Vila Zumbi's Fernandão Peixoto looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 59th minute, Fernandão Peixoto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vila Zumbi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Wellington Barbosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernandão Peixoto in the 63rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fernandão Peixoto in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wellington Barbosa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elano Coutinho in the 82nd minute of play forced Vasco FC's goalkeeper Wellington Barbosa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Fernandão Peixoto fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vila Zumbi's protests and gave Fernandão Peixoto a yellow card for diving instead. Fernandão Peixoto hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Elano Coutinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vasco FC's Wellington Barbosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernandão Peixoto in the 90th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Agnaldo Amaral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 92nd minute, César de Godoi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
