Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nichifor Codruț in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Armando Polidori prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Nichifor Codruț had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 8th minute, Valentin Verzea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 10th minute Nichifor Codruț shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armando Polidori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 13 played minutes F.C.BARLAD got a freekick which was hit by Paul Irod. In the 14th minute, Christian Zaccardi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bogdan Gurgui was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Armando Polidori showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nichifor Codruț, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Dave Barillari made in the 44th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by F.C.BARLAD's Adam Gheorghiță. The supporters of XMAS booed when F.C.BARLAD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nichifor Codruț didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half XMAS were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paul Irod to make the kick off. In the 52ndth minute of the game Nichifor Codruț who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but XMAS's Armando Polidori was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. XMAS's Armando Polidori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nichifor Codruț in the 79th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nichifor Codruț in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Armando Polidori saved XMAS from getting behind. If Nichifor Codruț had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, XMAS's Dave Barillari got a free kick in the 90th minute. Valentin Verzea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Nichifor Codruț's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Armando Polidori was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. Valentin Verzea took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Armando Polidori. Armando Polidori dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. F.C.BARLAD were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of XMAS for a fine match.
