With a couple of smart ball manuevers Guido Vissenaeken in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luc Van Hinnendael saved FC Bruges from getting behind. Luc Van Hinnendael took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guido Vissenaeken, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 7 played minutes Brugge United got a freekick which was hit by Dries Philipsen. If Guido Vissenaeken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luc Van Hinnendael showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guido Vissenaeken, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guido Vissenaeken in the 23rd minute of play forced FC Bruges's goalkeeper Luc Van Hinnendael to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
