The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kris Chamberlain in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Enrique Mazza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. FC Alytus United were awarded a corner in the 6th minute after FC Karamba's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jarūnas Kuliešius took the corner. Edvīns van der Sar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danas Nausėda in the 9th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, FC Alytus United's goal looked a bit too open when Danas Nausėda came free, but Edvīns van der Sar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jarūnas Kuliešius's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enrique Mazza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rimvydas Andrašiūnas got free with Edvīns van der Sar in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Enrique Mazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kris Chamberlain, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Edvīns van der Sar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danas Nausėda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarūnas Kuliešius in the 27th minute of play forced FC Karamba's goalkeeper Enrique Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes into the match, FC Karamba's goal looked a bit too open when Jarūnas Kuliešius came free, but Enrique Mazza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rimvydas Andrašiūnas got free with Edvīns van der Sar in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Through an outstanding action, after 36 minutes, Edvīns van der Sar successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With a little luck, FC Alytus United's Edvīns van der Sar got control of the ball when André Luís Zanette tried to sneak it across the goal line. Enrique Mazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl-Michael Bremming, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Jarūnas Kuliešius made the kick off in the second half. FC Karamba's Enrique Mazza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save FC Karamba from getting a goal against them. In the 58th minute Jarūnas Kuliešius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Mazza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 58th match minute, FC Alytus United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cafu Antunes to maneuver through the defense. FC Karamba's Enrique Mazza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kris Chamberlain in the 63rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lajos Vermes in the 68th minute of play forced FC Alytus United's goalkeeper Edvīns van der Sar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, FC Karamba's Kristupas Vosylius got a free kick in the 70th minute. A collision led to FC Karamba getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Kristupas Vosylius hit a great ball. FC Alytus United's Edvīns van der Sar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albinas Matūzas in the 78th minute of play. After 84 played minutes FC Alytus United got a freekick which was hit by Jarūnas Kuliešius. FC Karamba made a substitution. Vilhelm Jonasson replaced Danas Nausėda. In the 85th match minute, FC Alytus United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jarūnas Kuliešius to maneuver through the defense. Edvīns van der Sar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vilhelm Jonasson, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. A collision led to FC Alytus United getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Deividas Mencendorfs hit a great ball. Enrique Mazza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romualdas Motiekaitis in the 89th minute of play. In the 94th minute, one of FC Alytus United:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Alytus United.
