Jack Myers's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 6thth minute, Julian Goodwick skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 10 minutes into the match, Clapham Comets F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Jimmy Hanson came free, but Vinnie Small reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute, Chip Preece hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute, Ted Wiseman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julian Goodwick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martyn Lawson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andre Riley in the 20th minute of play forced T H F C's goalkeeper Julian Goodwick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute of the match, Robert Thorne tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Julian Goodwick saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After having played for 38 minutes, Jimmy Hanson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. T H F C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jimmy Hanson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 42 minutes into the match, T H F C's goalkeeper Julian Goodwick had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martyn Lawson. 44 minutes had been played when some careless play by T H F C's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Conan Wiseman was slow to take the kick. During this time Clapham Comets F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. The corner led Clapham Comets F.C.'s Conan Wiseman to fire away a dangerous shot which Julian Goodwick despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 46 played minutes Clapham Comets F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Jack Myers. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Martyn Lawson to strike the kick off in the second half. Julian Goodwick didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marc Van Der Hoorn went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Martyn Lawson in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julian Goodwick saved T H F C from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martyn Lawson in the 83rd minute of play forced T H F C's goalkeeper Julian Goodwick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Martyn Lawson in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julian Goodwick saved T H F C from getting behind. Julian Goodwick stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Martyn Lawson's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martyn Lawson in the 88th minute of play forced T H F C's goalkeeper Julian Goodwick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Martyn Lawson in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julian Goodwick prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With 93 minutes on the clock, Basil Rushforth commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 93 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for T H F C! 98 minutes into the game, Clapham Comets F.C.'s Marc Van Der Hoorn nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julian Goodwick made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Clapham Comets F.C. were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of T H F C for a fine match.
