Jay Palmers short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Christian Wilberforce to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Pete Partridge fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Egg Chasers FC's protests and gave Pete Partridge a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Egg Chasers FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Pete Partridge hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bradley Blueman got free with Christian Wilberforce in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pete Partridge in the 30th minute of play forced Stickleback Utd Xl's goalkeeper Christian Wilberforce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stickleback Utd Xl's Christian Wilberforce proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Stickleback Utd Xl from getting a goal against them. Egg Chasers FC's Pete Partridge got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Stickleback Utd Xl made a substitution. Kevin Ackland replaced Doug Kerfoot. In the 52nd minute, Bradley Blueman made a precise shot to the right of Christian Wilberforce. Stickleback Utd Xl's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. In the 55thth minute of the game Pete Partridge who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stickleback Utd Xl's Christian Wilberforce was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Stickleback Utd Xl's Stuart Atkins got a free kick in the 61st minute. Egg Chasers FC's Don Major couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Stickleback Utd Xl. In the 64th minute, Jay Palmer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Syd Kalischer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stickleback Utd Xl's supporters rose to their feet, but Syd Kalischer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edward Preston breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jay Palmer's late challenge caught a Stickleback Utd Xl's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jay Palmer helped the player get up and apologised. Jay Palmer hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. When Franz Hardcastle fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Egg Chasers FC's protests and gave Franz Hardcastle a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Stickleback Utd Xl booed when Egg Chasers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Franz Hardcastle didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th minute, a hard, long distance shot from Syd Kalischer hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. Jay Palmer was shown his second yellow card after 71 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Edward Preston took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kevin Ackland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 77 minutes into the match, Stickleback Utd Xl's goal looked a bit too open when Danny Booth came free, but Christian Wilberforce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Steve Knott hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. The long shot by Syd Kalischer in the 82nd minute really tested Edward Preston's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a rather tough play, Egg Chasers FC's Alistair Riley got a free kick in the 84th minute. 86 minutes into the game, Kevin Ackland recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Edward Preston. Kevin Ackland showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. 90 minutes into the match, Danny Booth had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Christian Wilberforce. Stickleback Utd Xl's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Danny Booth was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Bradley Blueman struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Christian Wilberforce didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Egg Chasers FC. When Phillip Cohens came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Stickleback Utd Xl fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phillip Cohens couldn't finish the play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Egg Chasers FC had played much better football throughout.
