Real Chelsea's defense didn't have a chance, in the 6th minute, when Babe Spencer scored to the left of an out of position Caleb Price, making the score, 1-0. A collision led to Staffy Terrier FC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Jonathan Cheetham hit a great ball. Harry Housham took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gwyn Duff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 17 minutes into the game, Dave Woodier cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Harry Housham was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Staffy Terrier FC's Harry Housham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shaun Johnston in the 23rd minute of play. 23 minutes into the game, Graham Long was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Staffy Terrier FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Chelsea the free kick. In the 24th minute, Graham Long hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Harry Housham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dave Woodier in the 25th minute of play. Dave Woodier took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Harry Housham. Harry Housham dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gwyn Duff in the 35th minute of play forced Staffy Terrier FC's goalkeeper Harry Housham to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gwyn Duff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Harry Housham having to interfere. The supporters of Real Chelsea booed when Staffy Terrier FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Graham Long didn't get a good kick on the ball. Caleb Price showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jon Webster, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 44th minute Dave Woodier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harry Housham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Staffy Terrier FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Real Chelsea were winning 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dave Woodier to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dave Woodier got free with Harry Housham in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Staffy Terrier FC's Harry Housham got control of the ball when Dave Woodier tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gwyn Duff charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gwyn Duff the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 89th minute, Gwyn Duff hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedro Warnett kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. 1-3 came in the 94th minute when Philip Harrad all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Harry Housham.
