In the 5th minute, Michel de Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Retumbante FC's Apat Reina got control of the ball when Lauro Carneiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 11th match minute, Retumbante FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Gonçalves to maneuver through the defense. 13 minutes into the match, Esporte Club Bahia's goal looked a bit too open when Kauã Mandrak came free, but Marcelo Lomba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcelo Lomba stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of José Paulo Mendonça's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Marcelo Lomba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kauã Mandrak, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. The Retumbante FC fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when Retumbante FC's José Paulo Mendonça looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Esporte Club Bahia's Marcelo Lomba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Paulo Mendonça in the 21st minute of play. In the 21st minute, José Paulo Mendonça made a precise shot to the right of Marcelo Lomba. Esporte Club Bahia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Esporte Club Bahia's Viggo Lidström got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kauã Mandrak in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcelo Lomba prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, Retumbante FC's Apat Reina got control of the ball when Lauro Carneiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 29th minute, Esporte Club Bahia's Lauro Carneiro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Tiago Xavier kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Kauã Mandrak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Kauã Mandrak came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Retumbante FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kauã Mandrak couldn't finish the play. Kauã Mandrak struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Marcelo Lomba didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Retumbante FC. When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Kauã Mandrak put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Marcelo Lomba. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Viggo Lidström was the one to do the kick off. After 52 played minutes Retumbante FC got a freekick which was hit by Eurico Galvão. After having played for 53 minutes, Viggo Lidström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esporte Club Bahia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Viggo Lidström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kauã Mandrak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Lomba having to interfere. Marcelo Lomba made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Paulo Mendonça in the 62nd minute. Marcelo Lomba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kauã Mandrak, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. During the 63rd minute of the match Tiago Xavier completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Tiago Xavier a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Esporte Club Bahia getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Tiago Xavier hit a great ball. If Kauã Mandrak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Retumbante FC made a substitution. Luiz Fernando Mota replaced Basílio Cearense. Retumbante FC made a substitution. Fabinho Bittencourt replaced Kauã Mandrak. 74 minutes into the match, José Paulo Mendonça notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Esporte Club Bahia's Marcelo Lomba. Marcelo Lomba was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fabinho Bittencourt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcelo Lomba having to make a save. Retumbante FC's Fabinho Bittencourt was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 84th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. José Paulo Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 92 minutes into the match, Esporte Club Bahia's goalkeeper Marcelo Lomba had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by José Paulo Mendonça. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabinho Bittencourt in the 97th minute of play forced Esporte Club Bahia's goalkeeper Marcelo Lomba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
