Joe Herring hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Valencia C.F.'s Oliver Bean got a free kick in the 11th minute. Valencia C.F.'s Jerry Lodge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Argyris Zagorakis in the 16th minute of play. SC Pfullendorf's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Silvinho Pinheiro in the 18th minute. 21 minutes into the game, Argyris Zagorakis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Jerry Lodge was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kıvanç Yücesan had great luck who in the 28thth minute grab hold of the ball when Oliver Bean from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Valencia C.F.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joe Herring in the 30th minute. After taking down the ball on Valencia C.F.'s corner Joe Herring fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Kıvanç Yücesan quite easily take care of the ball. Jerry Lodge came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Pfullendorf's Argyris Zagorakis. But to his dismay, Argyris Zagorakis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Kıvanç Yücesan was a little too slow when Joe Herring got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 38th minute. The score was now 1-2. Jerry Lodge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvinho Pinheiro in the 41st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Valencia C.F. defense, Argyris Zagorakis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jerry Lodge. The Valencia C.F. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jerry Lodge should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The wind increased when Joe Herring made the kick off in the second half. Qwinton Blazquez made in the 51st minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Karel Van Den Abeele however managed to control. After a defensive mix-up in Valencia C.F.'s zone, Argyris Zagorakis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jerry Lodge came out of the goal and Argyris Zagorakis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joe Herring blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kıvanç Yücesan having to make a save. SC Pfullendorf's Kıvanç Yücesan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joe Herring in the 55th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Argyris Zagorakis in the 59th minute of play forced Valencia C.F.'s goalkeeper Jerry Lodge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jerry Lodge made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Silvinho Pinheiro sent off a good shot on target. 69 minutes into the match, Valencia C.F.'s goal looked a bit too open when Argyris Zagorakis came free, but Jerry Lodge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Len Forrest hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. SC Pfullendorf made a substitution. 彭森银 replaced Argyris Zagorakis. In the 71st match minute, Valencia C.F. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Len Forrest to maneuver through the defense. Silvinho Pinheiro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 72nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jerry Lodge. Valencia C.F.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. SC Pfullendorf's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
