Gaspar Veloso was slow to take the kick. During this time Madvik FC's players had a chance to rest. Sabino Vilhena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 21st minute Jacobo Venerando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mike van Kampen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Matos Velhos's goal looked a bit too open when Adelino Galvão came free, but Mike van Kampen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 27 minutes into the game, Jacobo Venerando recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mike van Kampen. Jacobo Venerando showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. With a little luck, Matos Velhos's Mike van Kampen got control of the ball when Jacobo Venerando tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Miguel Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A nice corner shot did that Valdemar Fontoura got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mike van Kampen quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jacobo Venerando in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mike van Kampen saved Matos Velhos from getting behind. Madvik FC were awarded a corner in the 42th minute after Matos Velhos's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gaspar Veloso took the corner. Madvik FC's Jorge Seixas was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mike van Kampen in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Matos Velhos's goalkeeper Mike van Kampen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 46th match minute, Matos Velhos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tord Böcklund to maneuver through the defense. Gaspar Veloso was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 46th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Henrique Candal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carles Olle was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. Madvik FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
