In the 2nd minute Raimundo Ventura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armindo Maltez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 3 minutes into the match, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s goal looked a bit too open when Alcino Jesus came free, but Qiu Chuan Ran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Armindo Maltez made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Bernard Perathoner sent off a good shot on target. Raimundo Ventura could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Armindo Maltez made a huge save. Qiu Chuan Ran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gregório Jesus in the 9th minute of the match. Ponte do Carro's Armindo Maltez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonzalo Lixandro in the 11th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s goal looked a bit too open when Simão Boaventura came free, but Qiu Chuan Ran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Armindo Maltez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gonzalo Lixandro in the 18th minute. When Bernard Perathoner fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s protests and gave Bernard Perathoner a yellow card for diving instead. Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Qiu Chuan Ran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Loukianos Livas in the 21st minute of play. Qiu Chuan Ran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Loukianos Livas in the 22nd minute of play. With an all-out effort, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Armindo Maltez threw himself towards the right post 23 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gonzalo Lixandro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a little luck, Ponte do Carro's Armindo Maltez got control of the ball when Raimundo Ventura tried to sneak it across the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Ponte do Carro's Simão Boaventura sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Qiu Chuan Ran narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Qiu Chuan Ran came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Ponte do Carro's Simão Boaventura. But to his dismay, Simão Boaventura quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 40th minute Gregório Jesus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Qiu Chuan Ran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alcino Jesus made a great header on Ponte do Carro's corner, it was just that Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Qiu Chuan Ran managed to reach the ball for a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Gonzalo Lixandro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Armindo Maltez. That made the score 1-1 after 43 minutes of play. The supporters of Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. booed when Ponte do Carro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simão Boaventura didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Raimundo Ventura came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raimundo Ventura couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
Qiu Chuan Ran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Loukianos Livas in the 51st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alcino Jesus got free with Qiu Chuan Ran in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alcino Jesus could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Qiu Chuan Ran made a huge save. Ponte do Carro's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alcino Jesus in the 58th minute. A nice corner shot did that Loukianos Livas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Qiu Chuan Ran quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 59th minute Loukianos Livas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Qiu Chuan Ran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Armindo Maltez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonzalo Lixandro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gonzalo Lixandro in the 64th minute of play forced Ponte do Carro's goalkeeper Armindo Maltez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Qiu Chuan Ran got control of the ball when Loukianos Livas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Qiu Chuan Ran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simão Boaventura in the 69th minute of play. A beautiful save bye Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s goalie prevented a goal. With a little luck, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Qiu Chuan Ran got control of the ball when Palmiro Leite tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Qiu Chuan Ran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Loukianos Livas in the 95th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Ponte do Carro had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
