The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A throw-in in the 9th minute of the game was made by Durval Meira with Adalberto Peres as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Mike van Kampen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Bezerra in the 11th minute of play. In the 12th minute of the match SLB TELHA got a corner. Matos Velhos's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. João Assunção ran over to the corner to take the kick. Liboslav Krušina made a great header on SLB TELHA's corner, it was just that Matos Velhos's Mike van Kampen managed to reach the ball for a save. Mike van Kampen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valério Vilaça in the 16th minute of the match. After 16 played minutes SLB TELHA got a freekick which was hit by João Assunção. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henrique Candal in the 17th minute of play forced SLB TELHA's goalkeeper Bernardo Leiria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernardo Leiria showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sabino Vilhena, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. When Matos Velhos's Sabino Vilhena in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SLB TELHA's goalie prevented a goal. Bernardo Leiria stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sabino Vilhena's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Valério Vilaça sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bernardo Leiria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Heigo Luiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bernardo Leiria stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Henrique Candal's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. In the 33rd minute of the match Matos Velhos got a corner. SLB TELHA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Heigo Luiga ran over to the corner to take the kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Giancarlo Furlan during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, SLB TELHA's Giancarlo Furlan got a free kick in the 37th minute. Bernardo Leiria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Heigo Luiga in the 41st minute of play. Bernardo Leiria came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Matos Velhos's Heigo Luiga. But to his dismay, Heigo Luiga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Bernardo Leiria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adalberto Peres in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Valério Vilaça made a kick off. Bernardo Leiria made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Heigo Luiga sent off a good shot on target. Mike van Kampen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valério Vilaça in the 60th minute of the match. Mike van Kampen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valério Vilaça in the 62nd minute of play. Adalberto Peres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SLB TELHA's Bernardo Leiria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sabino Vilhena in the 76th minute of play. Matos Velhos's Mike van Kampen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valério Vilaça in the 77th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sabino Vilhena in the 81st minute of play forced SLB TELHA's goalkeeper Bernardo Leiria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, SLB TELHA's Bernardo Leiria got control of the ball when Karl Nietlisbach tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 91 minutes, Liboslav Krušina mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SLB TELHA and the Matos Velhos players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 91st minute, Liboslav Krušina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mike van Kampen came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by SLB TELHA's Valério Vilaça. But to his dismay, Valério Vilaça quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. When the final whistle sounded Matos Velhos left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than SLB TELHA.
