In the 13th minute Catarino Gueifão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Frasca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute, Frederico Aguiar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cássio Cortez in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alex Frasca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 20 minutes Garanhão do SUL's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Idalécio Luz who took care of the corner kick. LeoMel F.C.'s Adriano Lemos was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Alex Frasca in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Alex Frasca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Catarino Gueifão in the 21st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonel Messi in the 25th minute of play forced LeoMel F.C.'s goalkeeper Rogério Boaventura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When LeoMel F.C.'s Cássio Cortez in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Catarino Gueifão couldn't finish the play. 36 minutes into the match, Garanhão do SUL's goalkeeper Alex Frasca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cássio Cortez. After a defensive mix-up in LeoMel F.C.'s zone, Leonel Messi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rogério Boaventura came out of the goal and Leonel Messi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vítor Esparteiro kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Rogério Boaventura stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of António Gama's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amado Vigário made a kick off. Garanhão do SUL's Torcato Rebocho got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. LeoMel F.C.'s Rogério Boaventura played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amado Vigário in the 59th minute of play. The supporters of Garanhão do SUL booed when LeoMel F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laureano Viveiros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rogério Boaventura made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cassiano Telinhos in the 61st minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Torcato Rebocho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Garanhão do SUL's Eusébio Mesquita was substituted for Amado Vigário. Garanhão do SUL's Cláudio Balsemão was substituted for Leonel Messi. Cláudio Balsemão struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Rogério Boaventura didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Garanhão do SUL. After a defensive mix-up in Garanhão do SUL's zone, Idalécio Luz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alex Frasca came out of the goal and Idalécio Luz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 73 minutes into the match, Garanhão do SUL's goal looked a bit too open when Cássio Cortez came free, but Alex Frasca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Cássio Cortez made a precise shot to the right of Alex Frasca. Garanhão do SUL's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Cássio Cortez might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alex Frasca. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cássio Cortez ran back to his position shaking his head. LeoMel F.C.'s Cássio Cortez got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alex Frasca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Catarino Gueifão in the 78th minute of play. In the 80th minute LeoMel F.C. were awarded a corner. Idalécio Luz went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Idalécio Luz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Alex Frasca quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cássio Cortez in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alex Frasca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When LeoMel F.C.'s Cássio Cortez in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Garanhão do SUL's goalie prevented a goal. Garanhão do SUL:s Alex Frasca showed great skill when he stopped Cássio Cortez:s penalty. LeoMel F.C. were awarded a corner in the 89th minute after Garanhão do SUL's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Idalécio Luz took the corner. The corner led LeoMel F.C.'s Idalécio Luz to fire away a dangerous shot which Alex Frasca despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Rogério Boaventura showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cláudio Balsemão in the 92nd minute of the match.
