An unexpectedly hard shot by Amado Vigário in the 14th minute of play forced Seleção de Aleijados's goalkeeper Flávio Regueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 15 minutes Seleção de Aleijados's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was João Viana who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that João Viana got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Flávio Regueira quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Cassiano Telinhos kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Manuel Teixeira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 18th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alex Frasca. Garanhão do SUL's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Garanhão do SUL's Fábio Lobato got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 22nd minute, Salvador Lousada hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 23 played minutes, Seleção de Aleijados's Manuel Teixeira shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alex Frasca came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Seleção de Aleijados reached it. In the 30th minute, Salvador Lousada hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lionel-Andrés Lapadula got free with Alex Frasca in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Laércio Rebocho during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Garanhão do SUL's Laércio Rebocho got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Amado Vigário blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Flávio Regueira having to make a save. Garanhão do SUL's Eusébio Mesquita was substituted for João Viana. After the first half Garanhão do SUL were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Manuel Teixeira was the one to do the kick off. Lionel-Andrés Lapadula scored 1-1 in the 50th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alex Frasca, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Amado Vigário received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Flávio Regueira came out and tried to block the shot, but Amado Vigário slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 56th minute. Seleção de Aleijados's Flávio Regueira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Seleção de Aleijados from getting a goal against them. After 63rd play minutes Lionel-Andrés Lapadula shot 2-2, a short shot which went by Alex Frasca and just under the crossbar into goal. The audience was convinced that Amado Vigário's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Flávio Regueira was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. In the 71st match minute, Seleção de Aleijados was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lionel-Andrés Lapadula to maneuver through the defense. Alex Frasca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Teixeira in the 87th minute of the match. Flávio Regueira was out of position in the 91 minute of play, and Torcato Rebocho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Torcato Rebocho really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. After 96 minutes, Cassiano Telinhos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Garanhão do SUL and the Seleção de Aleijados players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 95th minute of the game. One of Garanhão do SUL:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Seleção de Aleijados:s goal. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
