In the 11th minute Jonas Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuel Fiúza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 13th minute, Eduardo Bulhosa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The A.D.ESMOJÃES fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The throw-in from Alexandrino Souto in the 16th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Gremio Viana's Amado Melo. In the 21stth minute of the game Joaquim Paredes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but A.D.ESMOJÃES's Laureano Rijo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 23rd minute Gremio Viana were awarded a corner. Lucílio Valente went to the cornerflag to take it. Laureano Rijo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquim Paredes, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. With his leg Laureano Rijo managed to avoid a goal in the 27thth minute, when Gremio Viana's Joaquim Paredes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Jonas Garcia who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Samuel Fiúza when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jonas Garcia did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-2 to the left of a surprised Samuel Fiúza 52 minutes into the match. 55 minutes into the match, A.D.ESMOJÃES's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Paredes came free, but Laureano Rijo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in A.D.ESMOJÃES's zone, Tony Påk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Laureano Rijo came out of the goal and Tony Påk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Samuel Fiúza made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Eduardo Bulhosa sent off a good shot on target. 61 minutes into the match, Jonas Garcia dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Samuel Fiúza, 2-3. When Tony Påk fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gremio Viana's protests and gave Tony Påk a yellow card for diving instead. Carlos Luna ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Luna in the 96th minute of play forced A.D.ESMOJÃES's goalkeeper Laureano Rijo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
