Domingos Lencastre's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Júlio César read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Júlio César showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tony Påk in the 14th minute of the match. Hugo Manso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 18th minute, Tony Påk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Domingos Lencastre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Júlio César made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingos Lencastre in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute, Domingos Lencastre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as AD Oliveirense's Dave Nash slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Samuel Fiúza. That made the score 1-0 after 35 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingos Lencastre in the 37th minute of play forced AD Oliveirense's goalkeeper Júlio César to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A throw-in in the 39th minute of the game was made by André Fraga with Fabrício Baía as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingos Lencastre in the 42nd minute of play forced AD Oliveirense's goalkeeper Júlio César to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Domingos Lencastre to strike the kick off in the second half. When Gremio Viana's Domingos Lencastre in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Domingos Lencastre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júlio César having to interfere. Marco Espírito Santo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Júlio César was out of position in the 65 minute of play, and Domingos Lencastre capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Domingos Lencastre really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. AD Oliveirense's Xavier Vilar was substituted for Hugo Manso. Samuel Fiúza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolae Pașcalău in the 69th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Nicolae Pașcalău's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Samuel Fiúza was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. In the 71st minute Domingos Lencastre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio César saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 75 minutes into the game, AD Oliveirense's Xavier Vilar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Samuel Fiúza made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Gremio Viana's Joaquim Paredes was substituted for Domingos Lencastre. AD Oliveirense's Celedonio Berenguer was substituted for Marco Espírito Santo. If Joaquim Paredes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Gremio Viana eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
