Laureano Rijo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dave Nash in the 15th minute of play. Júlio César made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cassiano Brochado in the 17th minute. Marco Espírito Santo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laureano Rijo having to interfere. AD Oliveirense's Júlio César played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduardo Bulhosa in the 23rd minute of play. 27 minutes into the game, AD Oliveirense's Hugo Manso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Laureano Rijo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Laureano Rijo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fabrício Baía's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. The referee ignored AD Oliveirense's protests and gave Marco Espírito Santo a yellow card for diving instead. After 50 played minutes AD Oliveirense got a freekick which was hit by Marco Espírito Santo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonas Garcia in the 53rd minute of play forced AD Oliveirense's goalkeeper Júlio César to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 65 minutes into the match, A.D.ESMOJÃES's Jonas Garcia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Júlio César narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Jonas Garcia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Júlio César was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. AD Oliveirense's Eugeniusz Chowaniec was substituted for Nick Troelsgaard. AD Oliveirense's Celedonio Berenguer was substituted for Dave Nash. Júlio César showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonas Garcia, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. A.D.ESMOJÃES's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Éder Palma in the 83rd minute. Marco Espírito Santo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 92 played minutes AD Oliveirense got a freekick which was hit by Eugeniusz Chowaniec. After a defensive mix-up in AD Oliveirense's zone, Jonas Garcia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júlio César came out of the goal and Jonas Garcia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the final whistle sounded AD Oliveirense left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than A.D.ESMOJÃES.
