If José Bomba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. F.C. Paços de Ferreira's Inácio Secco managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Ruben Dias in the 14 minute of the game. José Bomba's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Júlio César read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in AD Oliveirense's zone, José Bomba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júlio César came out of the goal and José Bomba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 21 played minutes F.C. Paços de Ferreira got a freekick which was hit by José Bomba. After 23 minutes of play, AD Oliveirense's Nick Troelsgaard made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Miguel Poças was left in no man's land by his defense there! Júlio César showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Bomba, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. After 27 minutes AD Oliveirense's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Igor Tudor who took care of the corner kick. The corner led F.C. Paços de Ferreira's Igor Tudor to fire away a dangerous shot which Júlio César despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Alfréd Fenyvessy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulo Ferreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Júlio César tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 33 minutes into the match, F.C. Paços de Ferreira's José Bomba sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Júlio César narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, José Bomba managed to get in a good position for a shot. F.C. Paços de Ferreira's supporters rose to their feet, but José Bomba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Júlio César breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Miguel Poças came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by AD Oliveirense's Marco Espírito Santo. But to his dismay, Marco Espírito Santo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when José Bomba made the kick off in the second half. Nick Troelsgaard came free with the goalkeeper in the 53rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Miguel Poças could save by the left post. Júlio César showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Bomba in the 54th minute of the match. 56 minutes into the match, F.C. Paços de Ferreira's goalkeeper Miguel Poças had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nick Troelsgaard. 57 minutes had been played when some careless play by F.C. Paços de Ferreira's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ziro Lobo was slow to take the kick. During this time AD Oliveirense's players had a chance to rest. Miguel Poças made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Espírito Santo in the 61st minute of play. José Bomba scored 3-3 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Júlio César, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. AD Oliveirense's Fabrício Baía was substituted for Nick Troelsgaard. José Bomba might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Júlio César. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Bomba ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, F.C. Paços de Ferreira's Miguel Poças got control of the ball when Fabrício Baía tried to sneak it across the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, F.C. Paços de Ferreira's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Espírito Santo came free, but Miguel Poças reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. AD Oliveirense's Celedonio Berenguer was substituted for Dave Nash. 81 minutes had been played when some careless play by F.C. Paços de Ferreira's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ziro Lobo was slow to take the kick. During this time AD Oliveirense's players had a chance to rest. Júlio César took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Bomba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The AD Oliveirense fans' excitement grew in the 84th match minute when AD Oliveirense's Fabrício Baía looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Miguel Poças made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Espírito Santo in the 88th minute of play. Miguel Poças stood somewhat misplaced when Marco Espírito Santo came free in front of goal and shot 3-5 to the left of him in the 88 minute. Hong Xi Bin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Júlio César tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The F.C. Paços de Ferreira supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching AD Oliveirense's performance. The match ended with a win for AD Oliveirense.
