Timo Courtois made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Patrick Galvão sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Patrick Galvão got free with Timo Courtois in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michael Weniger in the 20th minute of play forced SSV Ulm 1846's goalkeeper Timo Courtois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Timo Courtois took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jose Eduino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the West Staines Massive defense, Don Merlot kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Calvin Kuckhoff. The West Staines Massive fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Calvin Kuckhoff should have stopped the shot. When SSV Ulm 1846's Don Merlot in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye West Staines Massive's goalie prevented a goal. SSV Ulm 1846's Timo Courtois proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save SSV Ulm 1846 from getting a goal against them. West Staines Massive's Calvin Kuckhoff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberigo Sessa in the 37th minute of play. SSV Ulm 1846's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sven-Olof Lilja in the 38th minute. In the 42nd minute Jose Eduino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timo Courtois saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patrick Galvão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Timo Courtois made a huge save. Alberigo Sessa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Calvin Kuckhoff tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th minute Alberigo Sessa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calvin Kuckhoff saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Jose Eduino made the kick off in the second half. SSV Ulm 1846's Timo Courtois played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jose Eduino in the 51st minute of play. If Don Merlot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Timo Courtois showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick Galvão, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. West Staines Massive's Dan Rowell was substituted for Jonny Clayton. In the 73rd minute SSV Ulm 1846 were awarded a corner. Sven-Olof Lilja went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Sven-Olof Lilja got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Calvin Kuckhoff quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 78th minute, Don Merlot left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SSV Ulm 1846 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Calvin Kuckhoff showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Don Merlot in the 82nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in SSV Ulm 1846's zone, Yuan Qi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Timo Courtois came out of the goal and Yuan Qi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind West Staines Massive's goalkeeper Calvin Kuckhoff, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 91 minutes into the match, West Staines Massive's goalkeeper Calvin Kuckhoff had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Don Merlot. 96 minutes into the game, West Staines Massive's Yuan Qi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Timo Courtois made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2.
