With a little luck, Academica Pulheim's Paul Heyckendorf got control of the ball when Jose Eduino tried to sneak it across the goal line. Paul Heyckendorf made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Michael Weniger sent off a good shot on target. West Staines Massive's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Anastasios Boukouvalas in the 14th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Patrick Galvão got free with Paul Heyckendorf in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Michael Weniger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Paul Heyckendorf made a huge save. Bruno Gemar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joachim Kretschmer in the 21st minute of the match. Bruno Gemar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Mansilha, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurt Ahrem in the 28th minute of play forced West Staines Massive's goalkeeper Bruno Gemar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paul Heyckendorf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jose Eduino in the 30th minute of play. Jose Eduino who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 32ndth minute tested the skills of Paul Heyckendorf when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Bruno Gemar came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Academica Pulheim's Joachim Kretschmer. But to his dismay, Joachim Kretschmer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lutz Golke in the 38th minute of play forced West Staines Massive's goalkeeper Bruno Gemar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Paul Heyckendorf managed to avoid a goal in the 41stth minute, when West Staines Massive's Patrick Galvão fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Patrick Galvãos short, quick shot in the 41stth minute got Paul Heyckendorf to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Michael Weniger hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the West Staines Massive defense, Kurt Ahrem kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bruno Gemar. The West Staines Massive fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bruno Gemar should have stopped the shot. After the first half Academica Pulheim were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 50 minutes, Gary Lineker mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Academica Pulheim and the West Staines Massive players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gary Lineker kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 53rd minute, Jose Eduino made a precise shot to the right of Paul Heyckendorf. Academica Pulheim's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Jose Eduino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paul Heyckendorf having to interfere. In the 60th match minute, West Staines Massive was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erling Finnman to maneuver through the defense. In the 61st minute, Alex Mansilha fired a really elegant long shot, but Bruno Gemar threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. A nice corner shot did that Alex Mansilha got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Bruno Gemar quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maxime Vrints in the 64th minute of play forced West Staines Massive's goalkeeper Bruno Gemar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Michael Weniger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paul Heyckendorf having to interfere. Paul Heyckendorf took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jose Eduino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paul Heyckendorf stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jose Eduino's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. West Staines Massive's Bruno Gemar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maxime Vrints in the 76th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joachim Kretschmer during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 77 played minutes Academica Pulheim got a freekick which was hit by Joachim Kretschmer. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jose Eduino in the 78th minute of play forced Academica Pulheim's goalkeeper Paul Heyckendorf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute Maxime Vrints shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Gemar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 82nd minute Michael Weniger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Heyckendorf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paul Heyckendorf stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gunther Zapf's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. Bruno Gemar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kurt Ahrem went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. After 90 played minutes Academica Pulheim got a freekick which was hit by Gary Lineker. After a defensive mix-up in Academica Pulheim's zone, Gunther Zapf stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paul Heyckendorf came out of the goal and Gunther Zapf tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bruno Gemar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maxime Vrints, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The West Staines Massive supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Academica Pulheim's performance. The match ended with a win for Academica Pulheim.
