An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberigo Sessa in the 3rd minute of play forced West Staines Massive's goalkeeper Bruno Gemar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 5th minute, Derek Henderson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Timo Courtois showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick Galvão, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. After 10 played minutes SSV Ulm 1846 got a freekick which was hit by Alberigo Sessa. Moses Bardhan hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. If Jose Eduino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st play minute Don Merlot came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Bruno Gemar. 1-0. Bruno Gemar made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Don Merlot sent off a good shot on target. In the 30th minute, Patrick Galvão made a precise shot to the right of Timo Courtois. SSV Ulm 1846's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Wolfgang Goethe came free with the goalkeeper in the 35th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Bruno Gemar could save by the left post. 36 minutes into the match, West Staines Massive's goalkeeper Bruno Gemar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wolfgang Goethe. The audience thought a goal was coming when Don Merlot got free with Bruno Gemar in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bruno Gemar made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Don Merlot sent off a good shot on target. West Staines Massive's Bruno Gemar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberigo Sessa in the 47th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The throw-in from Moses Bardhan in the 51st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by SSV Ulm 1846's Afonso Silveira. 55 minutes into the match, Don Merlot notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of West Staines Massive's Bruno Gemar. Bruno Gemar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bruno Gemar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberigo Sessa in the 63rd minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, West Staines Massive's goal looked a bit too open when Alberigo Sessa came free, but Bruno Gemar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 65 minutes into the game, SSV Ulm 1846's Alberigo Sessa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bruno Gemar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. West Staines Massive's Jonny Clayton was substituted for Dan Rowell. Bruno Gemar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alberigo Sessa went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. In the 80th match minute, SSV Ulm 1846 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Delmiro Jayvier to maneuver through the defense. Bruno Gemar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberigo Sessa, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. West Staines Massive's Bruno Gemar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Don Merlot in the 86th minute of play. Timo Courtois took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jose Eduino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alberigo Sessa took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bruno Gemar. Bruno Gemar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. Erling Finnman's late challenge caught a SSV Ulm 1846's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Erling Finnman helped the player get up and apologised. Erling Finnman hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. In the 95th minute of the match SSV Ulm 1846 got a corner. West Staines Massive's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sven-Olof Lilja ran over to the corner to take the kick. SSV Ulm 1846's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
