Aimé Holtmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pat Eggers in the 5th minute of play. With a little luck, Liver Bird's Stig Verlengia got control of the ball when Adrian Neubauer tried to sneak it across the goal line. Trendafil Dzhendov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Stig Verlengia made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agapito Diaz in the 31st minute of play forced Liver Bird's goalkeeper Stig Verlengia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adrian Neubauer's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 34thth minute, Stig Verlengia skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pat Eggers in the 35th minute of play forced FC Temeswar Banat's goalkeeper Aimé Holtmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stig Verlengia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trendafil Dzhendov, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Stig Verlengia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adrian Neubauer in the 42nd minute. Wen Fan Ting hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Aimé Holtmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pat Eggers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pat Eggers was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, FC Temeswar Banat's goal looked a bit too open when Pat Eggers came free, but Aimé Holtmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aimé Holtmann came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Liver Bird's Pat Eggers. But to his dismay, Pat Eggers quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Goran Lindegger was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 55th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 56th minute, Goran Junod hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 61 minutes into the game, Alfred Parolini threw the ball into play from the sideline. FC Temeswar Banat's Benigno Osmundo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Adrian Neubauer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Stig Verlengia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aimé Holtmann stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pat Eggers's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. 77 minutes into the match, Liver Bird's goal looked a bit too open when Benigno Osmundo came free, but Stig Verlengia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, FC Temeswar Banat's Manfred Rinke got a free kick in the 94th minute. Liver Bird's Dimitris Rapsopodis was substituted for Pat Eggers. After 95 played minutes FC Temeswar Banat got a freekick which was hit by Manfred Rinke. Liver Bird's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
