Prospero Goethe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pirmin Jäggi, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. If Hermann Luscher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tory Pryor made a kick off. 56 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Wil 1900's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Vicente Echterhoff was slow to take the kick. During this time Friesenwerdermoor's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Ingemar Mense almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Wil 1900's Lionel Paly did a great save. After 59 played minutes FC Wil 1900 got a freekick which was hit by Emery Heller. 65 minutes into the match, FC Wil 1900's goal looked a bit too open when Lennard Rossmanith came free, but Lionel Paly reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pirmin Jäggi got free with Prospero Goethe in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The FC Wil 1900 supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Wil 1900 would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
