Mihnea Vizitiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luca Mureșan in the 6th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in -BZF- Viitorul Buzau's zone, Marioara Olaru stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iustinian Purcărete came out of the goal and Marioara Olaru tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 11th minute, Liviu Hurmuz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Gelu Bădoi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Iustinian Purcărete was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. -BZF- Petrolul Berca's Gelu Bădoi was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 15th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The supporters of -BZF- Petrolul Berca booed when -BZF- Viitorul Buzau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolae Pârâianu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute, Marioara Olaru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 21 minutes, Costel Buzgar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the -BZF- Viitorul Buzau and the -BZF- Petrolul Berca players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of -BZF- Petrolul Berca booed when -BZF- Viitorul Buzau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Costel Buzgar didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute Luca Mureșan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihnea Vizitiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 24 played minutes -BZF- Petrolul Berca got a freekick which was hit by Liviu Hurmuz. 26 minutes into the game, Petru Pamfil was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. -BZF- Viitorul Buzau's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave -BZF- Petrolul Berca the free kick. After 26 played minutes -BZF- Viitorul Buzau got a freekick which was hit by Petru Pamfil. After 33 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for -BZF- Petrolul Berca! Traian Muntean walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 37 minutes into the match, -BZF- Viitorul Buzau's goalkeeper Iustinian Purcărete had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dan Andrițoiu. In the 42nd minute, Aurel Mustea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 44 minutes of play, -BZF- Viitorul Buzau's Petru Pamfil made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mihnea Vizitiu was left in no man's land by his defense there!

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aurel Mustea was the one to do the kick off. If Luca Mureșan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iustinian Purcărete came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by -BZF- Petrolul Berca's Dan Andrițoiu. But to his dismay, Dan Andrițoiu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Adam Ghițulescu's late challenge caught a -BZF- Viitorul Buzau's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adam Ghițulescu helped the player get up and apologised. After 67 played minutes -BZF- Petrolul Berca got a freekick which was hit by Adam Ghițulescu. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dan Andrițoiu in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iustinian Purcărete prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurel Mustea in the 71st minute of play forced -BZF- Viitorul Buzau's goalkeeper Iustinian Purcărete to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72nd match minute, -BZF- Viitorul Buzau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basarab Dogaru to maneuver through the defense. After 74 minutes, Dan Andrițoiu made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. -BZF- Viitorul Buzau's Iustinian Purcărete tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Dan Andrițoiu struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Iustinian Purcărete didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for -BZF- Petrolul Berca. Luca Mureșan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Mihnea Vizitiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iustinian Purcărete stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dan Andrițoiu's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. If Vasile Barbonța had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute Liviu Hurmuz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iustinian Purcărete saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. -BZF- Petrolul Berca were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of -BZF- Viitorul Buzau for a fine match.
