Tomas Johnsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 7 minutes into the match, Wolverhampton's goalkeeper Tomas Johnsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Örjan Frisk. Ivar Albohm took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Damm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Wolverhampton getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Klas Ingesson hit a great ball. In the 11th minute of the match Henric Ek sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tomas Johnsson skillfully saved the ball. When the match clock showed 13 minutes, the score became 0-1 when John Damm sped through Strömsbro IF's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ivar Albohm. Tomas Johnsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Örjan Frisk, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Tony Skarkman put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Tomas Johnsson. When Örjan Frisk came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Strömsbro IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Örjan Frisk couldn't finish the play. In the 22nd minute, Rikard Hägglund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tony Skarkman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tomas Johnsson having to make a save. Thanks to some nice moves Tony Skarkman could shoot a difficult shot in the 33rd minute, which Tomas Johnsson however easily saved by the left post. 35 minutes into the match, Wolverhampton's goalkeeper Tomas Johnsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tony Skarkman. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Wolverhampton's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Henric Ek was slow to take the kick. During this time Strömsbro IF's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Strömsbro IF's corner Henric Ek fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tomas Johnsson quite easily take care of the ball. In the 37th minute, Ludvig Wennersten reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tomas Johnsson. The goal made the score 2-1. With a little luck, Wolverhampton's Tomas Johnsson got control of the ball when Tony Skarkman tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Örjan Frisk stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Wolverhampton defense, Tony Skarkman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tomas Johnsson. The Wolverhampton fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomas Johnsson should have stopped the shot. Tony Skarkman scored 6-1 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tomas Johnsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
