DIF LEEDS BK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Thomas Söderquist ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 28th minute, Östen Hedin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kent Näver was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Brazilio Butt made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Sören Gregersson sent off a good shot on target. Brazilio Butt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Silviu Novac to strike the kick off in the second half. Östen Hedin struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Kent Näver didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for DIF LEEDS BK. In the 52nd minute, Thomas Söderquist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mikael Juhlin in the 58th minute of play forced DIF LEEDS BK's goalkeeper Brazilio Butt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as DIF LEEDS BK's Silviu Novac slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kent Näver. That made the score 2-6 after 72 minutes of play. INIXET BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Peder Alström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 92nd minute of the match, Östen Hedin tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Kent Näver saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The DIF LEEDS BK supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing DIF LEEDS BK would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
