The audience thought a goal was coming when Casado Ozollo got free with Tommy Kahn in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jay Little could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Tommy Kahn made a huge save. Chris Mergenthaler hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. In the 23rd minute Corneliu Cămărășan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

52 minutes into the match, Real Escualido FC's goalkeeper Dantae Reve had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frank Sachs. Dantae Reve showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albin Holweck in the 54th minute of the match. Frank Sachs could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Dantae Reve made a huge save. After 57 played minutes Real Escualido FC got a freekick which was hit by Casado Ozollo. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jay Little in the 59th minute of the match. If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Casado Ozollo in the 65th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute, Casado Ozollo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Frank Sachs came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Germany fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Sachs couldn't finish the play. Germany's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
