After 4 minutes of play, Arsenal F.C.'s Denis Belyanko made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrey Savischev in the 9th minute of play forced U21 Russia's goalkeeper Andrey Kozlov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arsenal F.C. were awarded a corner in the 11th minute after U21 Russia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Trond Bom took the corner. Leonid Karpov tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Andrey Kozlov. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-2 in the 11th minute. After having played for 15 minutes, Denis Belyanko managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arsenal F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Denis Belyanko was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 17 minutes into the match, U21 Russia's goal looked a bit too open when Denis Belyanko came free, but Andrey Kozlov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes into the game, Denis Belyanko cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Andrey Kozlov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Denis Belyanko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Andrey Kozlov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denis Belyanko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes into the game, Denis Belyanko cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Andrey Kozlov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Andrey Kozlov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denis Belyanko in the 26th minute of the match. Andrey Kozlov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denis Belyanko, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. After 29 minutes U21 Russia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Trond Bom who took care of the corner kick. U21 Russia's Andrey Kozlov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denis Belyanko in the 42nd minute of play. After the first half Arsenal F.C. were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andrey Savischev stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. U21 Russia's Andrey Kozlov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save U21 Russia from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, U21 Russia's Andrey Kozlov got control of the ball when Denis Belyanko tried to sneak it across the goal line. Andrey Kozlov made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Denis Belyanko sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Russia's zone, Denis Belyanko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andrey Kozlov came out of the goal and Denis Belyanko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 59th minute, Arsenal F.C.'s Denis Belyanko dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. 65 minutes into the match, Arsenal F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Vitaliy Fedchenko came free, but Andrey Dvoryankin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute, Luka Borisov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arsenal F.C.'s 洪泉挺 was substituted for Karl-Magnus Låsberg. U21 Russia's Andrey Kozlov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lazo Ziya in the 74th minute of play. After 77 played minutes Arsenal F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Matvey Kivrin. 78 minutes into the match, U21 Russia's Nikita Kazachenko broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Lazo Ziya sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 81 minutes into the match, U21 Russia's goalkeeper Andrey Kozlov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lazo Ziya. Lazo Ziya let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 88th minute shot 0-6 at rihgt post. Andrey Kozlov was a little too slow when Lazo Ziya got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 92nd minute. The score was now 0-7. U21 Russia's defense didn't have a chance, in the 95th minute, when Lazo Ziya scored to the left of an out of position Andrey Kozlov, making the score, 0-8. Although U21 Russia had been in control for most of the match, Arsenal F.C. still came away with the win.
