After some careless play in the IFK Ranger defense, Ionuț Jităreanu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tomas Vennerlund. The IFK Ranger fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomas Vennerlund should have stopped the shot. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Ede Szász sped through IFK Ranger's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tomas Vennerlund. After 37 minutes, Ede Szász made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. IFK Ranger's Tomas Vennerlund tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 44th minute Reinhold Artmaier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomas Vennerlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
