During this time Gaviotas FC's players had a chance to rest. 20 minutes into the match, Gnaget AIK's Alvin Carlsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carlos Goyeneta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gaviotas FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabiano Di Vincenzo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gaviotas FC's Taco Huizinga got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stig-Åke Wall to make the kick off. Inocencio Patxi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Viktor Kjellman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabiano Di Vincenzo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Inocencio Patxi struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Viktor Kjellman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gaviotas FC. Viktor Kjellman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabiano Di Vincenzo in the 95th minute of play. In the 98th minute Fabiano Di Vincenzo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viktor Kjellman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gaviotas FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
