Julien Marxer received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ronald Kip came out and tried to block the shot, but Julien Marxer slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 8th minute. In the 13th match minute, ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Etienne Ritzberger to maneuver through the defense. After 14 played minutes, Pannekoeken's Lukas Dilling shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Matthias Meliti came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pannekoeken reached it. In the 15th match minute, ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Etienne Ritzberger to maneuver through the defense. René Batum scored 1-1 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Matthias Meliti, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Matthias Meliti didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lukas Dilling went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Matthias Meliti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pieter-Jan Reitsema in the 40th minute of the match. Ernst Cakir's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ronald Kip read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. René Batum was the one to do the kick off. Pieter-Jan Reitsema fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matthias Meliti having to interfere. Ronald Kip stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lukas Brunhardt's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. In the 62nd minute Ernst Cakir shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronald Kip saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pannekoeken's Pieter-Jan Reitsema got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's Matthias Meliti proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ from getting a goal against them. In the 68th minute René Batum shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matthias Meliti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's goal looked a bit too open when René Batum came free, but Matthias Meliti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, Pieter-Jan Reitsema notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's Matthias Meliti. Matthias Meliti was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Matthias Meliti made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Lukas Dilling sent off a good shot on target. In the 77th minute, one of ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ. Matthias Meliti made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pieter-Jan Reitsema in the 87th minute. Andreas Teunisse hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Ronald Kip showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dominik Ritter in the 98th minute of the match.
