When Godfredo Gau came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Defensores de Lombroso fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Godfredo Gau couldn't finish the play. 19 minutes into the match, CAPITAN PILUSO 26.06.11's goal looked a bit too open when Lionel-Andrés Messi came free, but Anacleto Arotza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Uriel Ferrer in the 41st minute of play forced CAPITAN PILUSO 26.06.11's goalkeeper Anacleto Arotza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Uriel Ferrer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th minute Lionel-Andrés Messi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anacleto Arotza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Denis Paulin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Toro in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Defensores de Lombroso were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lionel-Andrés Messi was the one to do the kick off. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Defensores de Lombroso's goalkeeper Denis Paulin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
