After having played for 9 minutes, Mohieddine Ayari managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BORBOTONES FUTBOL CLUB's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mohieddine Ayari was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Ascacibar-Pérez getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Martín Palermo hit a great ball. 17 minutes into the game, Erasmo Clis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ascacibar-Pérez's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BORBOTONES FUTBOL CLUB the free kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

In the 56th minute Mohieddine Ayari shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Einar Holmberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Einar Holmberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mohieddine Ayari, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind BORBOTONES FUTBOL CLUB's goalkeeper Silvestre Natanael, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 62 minutes, Miguel Montrel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ascacibar-Pérez and the BORBOTONES FUTBOL CLUB players grew even worse after the yellow card. Silvestre Natanael was left in no man's land by his defense there! 86 minutes into the match, Ascacibar-Pérez's goal looked a bit too open when Mohieddine Ayari came free, but Einar Holmberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Einar Holmberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mohieddine Ayari, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute.
