Pincha FC:s Carlos Quentin showed great skill when he stopped Maximo Dei:s penalty. If Concetto Trasatti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Estudiantes de América's Marcos Ranolfo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Estudiantes de América from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Estudiantes de América's Marcos Ranolfo got control of the ball when Marcial Roldanillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pincha FC's Carlos Quentin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Beltza in the 39th minute of play. Estudiantes de América's Marcos Ranolfo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Estudiantes de América from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Pincha FC's Rodrigo Mendebal got a free kick in the 41st minute. Agustin Silvino hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Estudiantes de América's Maximo Dei got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carlos Quentin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Concetto Trasatti, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Marcial Roldanillo made the kick off in the second half. The Pincha FC fans' excitement grew in the 54th match minute when Pincha FC's Marcial Roldanillo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Estudiantes de América made a substitution. In the 88th minute Ramon-Angel Sadurni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Ranolfo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Quentin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kraig Fred in the 90th minute. 91 minutes into the game, Diego Simeone was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Estudiantes de América's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pincha FC the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavio Iraunkor in the 94th minute of play forced Pincha FC's goalkeeper Carlos Quentin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
