After a defensive mix-up in Jenipapo SC's zone, Ricky Baby stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Seaman came out of the goal and Ricky Baby tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Maurício Arósio took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Renan Melo to make any attempt to save it. Ricardinho Pena's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Renan Melo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. In the 74th minute Ricardinho Pena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renan Melo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to A.A. Francana getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Charlie Boström hit a great ball. 78 minutes into the match, Jenipapo SC's goal looked a bit too open when Roman Koenig came free, but David Seaman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Renan Melo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vinicio Junior, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 83 played minutes A.A. Francana got a freekick which was hit by Roman Koenig. 85 minutes into the match, Jenipapo SC's goal looked a bit too open when Charlie Boström came free, but David Seaman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Renan Melo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vinicio Junior's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. 95 minutes into the match, Vinicio Junior had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Renan Melo. A.A. Francana's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vinicio Junior was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-2. Jenipapo SC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of A.A. Francana for a fine match.
