Neven Culina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bixente Soudan having to interfere. Croatia's Ilija Skugor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Croatia from getting a goal against them. Ilija Skugor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cayetano Ihazintu in the 26th minute of play. Alfredo Belasko charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alfredo Belasko the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alfredo Belasko kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cayetano Ihazintu was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Croatia defense, Aquiles Orlondo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ilija Skugor. The Croatia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ilija Skugor should have stopped the shot. If Damir Pongrac had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute Eduard Kostelac shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bixente Soudan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Artemio Muc kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Silvano Oso hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Silvano Oso charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 91st minute, Croatia's Martin Bosak dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-2. Cayetano Ihazintu scored 5-2 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ilija Skugor, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. megavalen had won after a very even match.
