Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) After 3 played minutes Rufián got a freekick which was hit by Jonas Figueroa. The supporters of Germany booed when Rufián was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduardo Paulin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rufián's goalkeeper Fabian Timo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 12th minute Arnulfo Otsando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnulfo Otsando sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frank Sachs hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Germany's zone, Jonas Figueroa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Kahn came out of the goal and Jonas Figueroa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rufián's Generoso Toro got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frank Sachs struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Fabian Timo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Germany. Germany's Tommy Kahn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Germany from getting a goal against them. Eduardo Paulin got a throw-in 33 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Jonas Figueroa. In the 35th minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabian Timo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute, Frank Sachs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonas Figueroa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jonas Figueroa to make the kick off. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Generoso Toro in the 53rd minute of play. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Frank Sachs blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fabian Timo having to make a save. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnulfo Otsando in the 62nd minute of play. In the 63rd minute Generoso Toro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Frank Sachs came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Germany fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Sachs couldn't finish the play. In the 72nd minute, Generoso Toro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rufián fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Fabian Timo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albin Holweck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
