In the 7th match minute, Eendracht Vooruit was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diederick Imbrechs to maneuver through the defense. 11 minutes into the match, Eendracht Vooruit's goalkeeper Atay Türegün had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dé 武松. Jean-Louis Van Bever made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wágner Recife in the 14th minute of play. Diederick Imbrechs's late challenge caught a KFC Cromvelde's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Diederick Imbrechs helped the player get up and apologised. In the 17th minute Mathijs Rokeloos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Atay Türegün saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atay Türegün showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henry Åkesson in the 19th minute of the match. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind KFC Cromvelde's goalkeeper Jean-Louis Van Bever, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Atay Türegün made an important save on a dangerous shot by Henry Åkesson in the 26th minute. 29 minutes into the match, Eendracht Vooruit's Wágner Recife sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jean-Louis Van Bever narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jean-Louis Van Bever made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wágner Recife in the 35th minute of play. KFC Cromvelde's Jean-Louis Van Bever played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wágner Recife in the 36th minute of play. Atay Türegün showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathijs Rokeloos, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After 38 minutes Eendracht Vooruit's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dé 武松 who took care of the corner kick. The corner led KFC Cromvelde's Dé 武松 to fire away a dangerous shot which Atay Türegün despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 40 minutes, Wágner Recife mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eendracht Vooruit and the KFC Cromvelde players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Eendracht Vooruit's Wágner Recife got a free kick in the 40th minute. 43 minutes into the match, Eendracht Vooruit's goal looked a bit too open when Mathijs Rokeloos came free, but Atay Türegün reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th minute, Cosmin Contra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Wágner Recife in the 61st minute of play forced KFC Cromvelde's goalkeeper Jean-Louis Van Bever to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Eendracht Vooruit's goal looked a bit too open when Mathijs Rokeloos came free, but Atay Türegün reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Heinz Kaltz in the 63rd minute of play forced Eendracht Vooruit's goalkeeper Atay Türegün to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wágner Recife's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jean-Louis Van Bever read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. When KFC Cromvelde's Henry Åkesson in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Wágner Recife took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Jean-Louis Van Bever to make any attempt to save it. Eendracht Vooruit's Atay Türegün played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henry Åkesson in the 81st minute of play. In the 81st minute Henry Åkesson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Atay Türegün saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Henry Åkesson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Atay Türegün tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eendracht Vooruit's Atay Türegün played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mathijs Rokeloos in the 90th minute of play. After 93 minutes of play, KFC Cromvelde's Dé 武松 made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Atay Türegün was left in no man's land by his defense there! Eendracht Vooruit's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
