Paulus Van Hove started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurt de Rudder in the 3rd minute of play forced FC Bal op het Dak's goalkeeper Harvey Davies to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Bal op het Dak's Joop Meder quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Isidoor Dejardin, made in the 4th minute of the game. Dan Kjellman might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lou Wegers. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dan Kjellman ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dan Kjellman in the 6th minute of play forced de belletrekkers's goalkeeper Lou Wegers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Artur Mendes came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the FC Bal op het Dak fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Artur Mendes couldn't finish the play. Harvey Davies made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulus Van Hove in the 12th minute of play. In the 14th minute, Dan Kjellman made a precise shot to the right of Lou Wegers. de belletrekkers's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Dan Kjellman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dan Kjellman in the 17th minute of play forced de belletrekkers's goalkeeper Lou Wegers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Dan Kjellman had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lou Wegers. de belletrekkers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dan Kjellman was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dan Kjellman in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lou Wegers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by de belletrekkers's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marick Brunt was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Bal op het Dak's players had a chance to rest. FC Bal op het Dak's attentive Joop Meder managed to snatch the ball when Isidoor Dejardin made a throw-in in the 35th minute of the game. Marten Merckx struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Harvey Davies didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for de belletrekkers. 39 minutes into the game, Isidoor Dejardin threw the ball into play from the sideline. FC Bal op het Dak's Joop Meder quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Lou Wegers came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Bal op het Dak's Dan Kjellman. But to his dismay, Dan Kjellman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. 47 minutes into the match, de belletrekkers's goal looked a bit too open when Dan Kjellman came free, but Lou Wegers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 49th minute FC Bal op het Dak were awarded a corner. Marick Brunt went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Marick Brunt almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but de belletrekkers's Lou Wegers did a great save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

After a rather tough play, FC Bal op het Dak's Joop Bakker got a free kick in the 53rd minute. 60 minutes into the match, FC Bal op het Dak's Dan Kjellman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lou Wegers narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Paulus Van Hove's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Harvey Davies was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Dan Kjellman put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Lou Wegers. FC Bal op het Dak's Martijn August was substituted for Dan Kjellman. FC Bal op het Dak's Nico Hagenouw was substituted for Válbson Almeida. In a very dangerous position, a player in de belletrekkers fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 69th minute. Penalty! The referee gave FC Bal op het Dak a penalty, 72 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Marick Brunt, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of de belletrekkers's Lou Wegers. 7-0. 76 minutes into the game, FC Bal op het Dak's Martijn August nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lou Wegers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martijn August in the 82nd minute of play forced de belletrekkers's goalkeeper Lou Wegers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute Artur Mendes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lou Wegers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lou Wegers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martijn August, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 91st minute of the match FC Bal op het Dak got a corner. de belletrekkers's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Marick Brunt ran over to the corner to take the kick. If Przemyslaw Gerlach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Bal op het Dak's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
