Eric McThomas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albin Holweck in the 37th minute of play. Germany's Tommy Kahn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Germany from getting a goal against them. If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 6-0.

After recieving a nice pass, Germany's Frank Sachs tried to score from far away in the 91st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar.
