Antal Valentin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zdzislaw Jestrimski having to interfere. Zdzislaw Jestrimski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Antal Valentin's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. Methee Kutas hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. 17 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Primitivo Tebaldo came free, but Fodor Daniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute Major Barna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zdzislaw Jestrimski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zdzislaw Jestrimski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 25 minutes into the match, FC United's goal looked a bit too open when Antal Valentin came free, but Zdzislaw Jestrimski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute, Primitivo Tebaldo made a precise shot to the right of Fodor Daniel. Hungary's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 30 minutes into the match, Hungary's Major Barna sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zdzislaw Jestrimski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. FC United's Zdzislaw Jestrimski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Major Barna in the 31st minute of play. If Balazs Lajos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zdzislaw Jestrimski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Major Barna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Antal Valentin made a kick off. With a little luck, FC United's Zdzislaw Jestrimski got control of the ball when Major Barna tried to sneak it across the goal line. Antal Valentin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mikolaj Sidor in the 59th minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antal Valentin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zdzislaw Jestrimski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Major Barna, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Major Barna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Boros Benedek's late challenge caught a FC United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Boros Benedek helped the player get up and apologised. In the 78th minute Beniamin Bejger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Hungary's Antal Valentin got a free kick in the 79th minute. FC United's Zdzislaw Jestrimski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Takacs Tibor in the 82nd minute of play. In the 86th minute of the match Hungary got a corner. FC United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Antal Valentin ran over to the corner to take the kick. Carlo Puglielli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Major Barna who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 91stth minute tested the skills of Zdzislaw Jestrimski when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Hungary booed when FC United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Methee Kutas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antal Valentin took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 92nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Zdzislaw Jestrimski. FC United's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Hungary's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because FC United had won, even though Hungary had held more of the ball.
