The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Araçá F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Monteiro came free, but Fabinho de Queiroz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wágner Andrade might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabinho de Queiroz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wágner Andrade ran back to his position shaking his head. Bernardinho Sharkin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manfredo Pinheiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Beto Simões during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Beto Simões kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. A collision led to Araçá F. C. getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Nildo Brito hit a great ball. Wágner Andrade blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fabinho de Queiroz having to make a save. If Wágner Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 34 minutes into the match, Desportivo Coala's goal looked a bit too open when Manfredo Pinheiro came free, but Bernardinho Sharkin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th minute, Manfredo Pinheiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Araçá F. C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Wágner Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Fabinho de Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wágner Andrade was the one to do the kick off. The attack was good, but when Wágner Andrade in the 51st minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. A collision led to Desportivo Coala getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Wágner Andrade hit a great ball. Bernardinho Sharkin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manfredo Pinheiro in the 60th minute. If Wágner Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. Manfredo Pinheiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bernardinho Sharkin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Manfredo Pinheiro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 75thth minute tested the skills of Bernardinho Sharkin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Fabinho de Queiroz came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Desportivo Coala's Wágner Andrade. But to his dismay, Wágner Andrade quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. When Desportivo Coala's Wágner Andrade in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Araçá F. C.'s goalie prevented a goal. Wágner Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Fabinho de Queiroz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Nilton Negri fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Araçá F. C.'s protests and gave Nilton Negri a yellow card for diving instead. After 85 played minutes Araçá F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Nilton Negri. Bernardinho Sharkin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Manfredo Pinheiro in the 88th minute. Wágner Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabinho de Queiroz having to interfere. The supporters of Desportivo Coala booed when Araçá F. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Palmeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. There was no doubt that Desportivo Coala were the better team. Desportivo Coala's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
