AVAÍ F.C.'s Marcos Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Javi Moreno in the 9th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Deportivo Alavés's goalkeeper Gonzo Cabezas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mateus Alves. Deportivo Alavés's Javi Moreno got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The AVAÍ F.C. fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when AVAÍ F.C.'s Augusto Penha looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Albino Lopez de Toro charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Albino Lopez de Toro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 33rd minute of the match, Mateus Alves tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gonzo Cabezas saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 41 minutes into the game, Segundo Huarte was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo Alavés's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AVAÍ F.C. the free kick. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Alavés's Segundo Huarte got a free kick in the 42nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Javi Moreno in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcos Catarinense saved AVAÍ F.C. from getting behind. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

AVAÍ F.C. made a substitution. Jorge Pinho replaced Augusto Penha. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Javi Moreno to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Deportivo Alavés got a freekick which was hit by Espartaco Morales. Jorge Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With 67 minutes on the clock, Albino Lopez de Toro commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 67th minute of the game. One of Deportivo Alavés:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of AVAÍ F.C.:s goal. Gonzo Cabezas had in the 69thth minute some difficulties stopping Mateus Alves's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Gabriel Poveda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gonzo Cabezas having to make a save. AVAÍ F.C.'s Anderson Mattos was substituted for Gabriel Poveda. In the 77th minute, André Luiz Pinheiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. AVAÍ F.C.'s Marcos Catarinense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save AVAÍ F.C. from getting a goal against them. Xan Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 89 minutes of play, AVAÍ F.C.'s Joaquim Ceresso made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gonzo Cabezas was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jonathan Mota scored 4-0 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gonzo Cabezas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. AVAÍ F.C.'s supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
